Mackinac Island - Michigan

We got a ferry ride to Mackinac Island & combined it with a carriage ride around the island. It was a good overall to see a lot. There are 2 ferry operators, Shepler's & Starline. We took Starline but there was some delays. I think Shepler has more ferry service.

For an extra fee you can tour the butterfly garden. We didn't.

You can tour the fort for an extra fee. We didn't.

Elyria & Lorain Waterfalls

Cascade Falls - East Falls. I parked behind the police station in Elyria in the Riverwalk parking lot. Boardwalk to the falls. I also took the trail closer to the police station for a different view. For the west falls I went to Cascade Park. Trail starts at the playground area of the parking lot & heads away from the nature center. I first went toward the nature center, across the bridge & saw this. Then I realized it was the other way. You can start at the west fall sign or by the water & loop around. Nice Playground area too. Day's Dam in Lorain.

New York Finger Lakes Area Itinerary

I think this trip is when I developed the love of waterfalls Finger Lake Area Day One Letchworth State Park – Lower Falls, Inspiration Point, Upper Falls, Middle Falls, Wolf Creek Day Two – Taughannock Falls, Ithaca Falls, Hike toCascadilla Falls – 9 falls ending at Cornell University, Cornell Lab of Ornithology to see birds, Buttermilk Falls , Robert H Treman State Park Lower Falls, Lucifer Falls. Day Three – Watkins Glen State Park, Hector Falls, ExcelsiorGlen, Seneca Lake, Aunt Sarah Falls, Shequaga Falls, Deckertown Falls, Havana Glen– Eagle Cliff Falls, Town of Cornell Day Four – Jamestown NY – home of Lucille Ball – museum, burial, & murals around town.
